Fluorocarbon o-ring compounds emerge as a highly effective choice for a universal o-ring material, widely utilized across various industries. These Fluorocarbon o-rings are designed for demanding applications, including seals for aircraft engines, seals for automotive fuel handling systems, and in high temperature/low compression set scenarios. They excel in a broad array of chemical exposure conditions, are reliable in hard vacuum service, and serve many more functions effectively. The more advanced and sophisticated grades deliver outstanding resistance to swell in high octane and oxygenated fuel blends, ensuring exceptional performance specifically in ethanol/methanol blended gasoline. On the other hand, the basic grades provide enhanced resistance to amine-based oil protectants typically found in new transmission oils, as well as improved resistance to steam for applications requiring higher temperature service. However, it is important to note that fluorocarbon is not recommended for exposure to certain substances, including ketones, amines, low molecular weight esters and ethers, nitro hydrocarbons, hot hydrofluoric or chlorosulfonic acids, or Skydrol® fluids.
